7 BARBER / PLZEŇShaving with a razor in a barbershop is more than just removing the beard – it is a relaxation ritualthat you deserve. If you haven't tried it yet, we have prepared a complete guide for you.
What is a traditional razor shave?
In a traditional shave, the barber uses a sharp razor (so-called shavette or classic razor) to achieve a perfectly smooth shave. The entire process takes approximately 30-45 minutes and involves several steps.
The process of shaving
1. Skin preparation
The barber first softens the beard with a hot towel. The heat will open the pores and the beard will become more flexible.
2. Application of foam or cream
Special shaving cream is whipped with a brush and applied in circular motions. It lifts the beard and creates a slippery surface.
3. The shave itself
The barber gently stretches the skin and removes the beard with smooth strokes. The razor is guided in the direction of growth for minimal irritation.
4. Soothing the skin
Shave is followed by a cool washcloth and balm, which soothes and moisturizes the skin.
Benefits of shaving with a razor
- Perfectly smooth skin – the razor gets closer to the skin than a razor
- Less irritation – one stroke instead of several
- Relaxation – 45 minutes just for you
- Skincare – includes exfoliation and hydration
How to prepare?
Let the beard grow for at least 2-3 days. Don't come with a freshly shaved face – a razor needs something to touch.
Who is it not suitable for?
We do not recommend shaving with a razor when acne, skin problems or very sensitive skin. In this case, consult your barber about alternatives.
