7 BARBER / PLZEŇThe Verdi beard, named after the famous Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, is a shorter, rounded style of full beard. Unlike the wilder Garibaldi beard, the Verdi is more groomed, sophisticated and suitable for a more formal environment.
Characteristics of the Verdi beard
The Verdi beard has a length of approx. 7-10 cm – shorter than Garibaldi, but still full and expressive. The key feature is the rounded, trimmed shape of the lower edge and the partially separated moustache, which can be styled (curved ends) or left natural.
Unlike other full beards, the Verdi is deliberately maintained and shaped, not wildly grown.
How to grow a Verdi beard
It takes 2-4 months to grow. Keep the line on the cheeks and neck clean as it grows. Don't try to shape too soon – let the beard reach the desired length. The initial „ungroomed“ phase is unavoidable.
After reaching a length of 7+ cm, visit a barber for the first professional shaping. Barber creates a rounded shape and separates the moustache.
Moustache as part of the Verdi
The mustache in the Verdi beard is partially separated from the rest of the beard – can be longer and styled. The traditional Verdi has the ends of the mustache curled up with wax. A more modern variant leaves the mustache natural, but still separated from the main part of the beard.
Maintenance of the Verdi beard
Daily: Combing with a brush, applying beard oil. Weekly: Checking the shape, trimming the ingrown hairs with scissors. Monthly: Visit the barber for professional maintenance of the shape.
Washing: 2-3 times a week with beard shampoo, conditioner or balm after each wash.
Who Verdi suits
Verdi is more versatile than wild styles –suits men in a professional environmentwho want a distinctive beard, but they need to keep tidy. Ideal for men with thick, even beard growth. Sparse parts would disrupt the rounded shape.
Verdi vs other full beards
Verdi vs Garibaldi: Verdi is shorter and neater. Verdi vs Bandholz: Bandholz is longer and wilder. Verdi vs Full beard: Verdi has a specific rounded shape and separate moustache.
Styling products
removes surface impurities. – the basis of daily care. Balm – for light shaping and hydration. Mustache wax – if you want to style the ends moustache. Avoid heavy products that weigh down the beard and destroy the natural volume.
