Glasses and hairstyle: How to match them
Glasses are not only a corrective aid, but also a fashion accessory that significantly affects the overall appearance. The right combination of glasses and hairstyle can create a harmonious whole or, on the contrary, a visual conflict.

Shape of frames and face
Basic rule: images should contrast with face shape. Round face = angular frames. Square face = round or oval frames. This principle also applies to the relationship between glasses and hairstyle.
Large frames
Statement glasses with large frames need a hairstyle that gives them space. Choose shorter cuts on the sides (fade, taper), which do not compete with bold glasses. Too voluminous hair in combination with big glasses creates chaos.
Recommended cuts: Undercut, side part with fade, textured crop.
Small/minimalist trims
Soft trims allow more freedom in the hairstyle. You can afford more volume, longer hair or more expressive styling. Minimalist glasses do not create visual competition.
Recommended cuts: Pompadour, quiff, longer textured styles.
Round frames
Retro round frames (John Lennon style) work best with textured, organic cuts. Avoid too strict, geometric styles – creates a conflict between soft and hard.
Recommended cuts: Messy hair, French crop, natural waves.
Bangular trims
Business trims with sharp angles can be matched with clean, structured cuts. Side part, slick back or pompadour complement the professional look of angular glasses.
Special cases
Headband and glasses: If you wear a fringe, check that it does not cover the frames or fall into the glasses. A slightly shorter forehead or styling to the side solves this problem.
Sports and glasses: For sports glasses, choose practical short cuts that do not interfere with the field of vision.
Color of frames
Black frames: Universal, works with most hair colors. Turtle: Suits warm shades of hair (brown, auburn). Metallic: Modern look, suitable for clean cuts. Colourful: Statement piece – the hairstyle should be simpler.
Practical tip
When visiting the barbershop wear glasses (even if you normally wear lenses). A barber can better assess the proportions and design a cut that harmonizes with the glasses.
