What is hair water?
Hair water is aqueous solution with active ingredients and fragrance. Unlike oils and creams, it is light, quickly absorbed and does not leave an oily film. Traditionally, it contains menthol or eucalyptus for a cooling sensation.
Features of hair lotion
Refreshing: Cooling effect of menthol or similar ingredients. Hydration: Light moisture for the scalp. Stimulation: Some formulas stimulate blood flow to the scalp. Scent: Pleasant, usually classic „barbershop“ aroma. Light styling: Gives slight control to hair.
How to use hair lotion
- Apply to clean, dry or slightly damp hair
- Pour a little in palm or use spray
- Massage into scalp, not just hair
- Comb through hair
- Let it dry naturally
Can be used daily – is light enough not to build up.
Traditional vs modern formula
Traditional: Alcohol base, menthol, simpler formula. More refreshing, but can be drying. Modern: Alcohol-free or low-alcohol, added vitamins and nutrients. Gentler, suitable for sensitive skin.
Who the hair water is for
Oily scalp: Light formula does not add greasiness. Men who prefer a natural look: Minimal styling effect. Those who appreciate the barbershop ritual: Traditional experience. Active men: Refreshment after sports or during the day.
Hair water vs other products
vs Hair oil: Oil is more nourishing, heavier, for dry hair. Hair water is lighter, refreshing. vs Sea salt spray: Sea salt adds texture, hair water refreshes and hydrates. vs Styling products: Hair water has a minimal styling effect, it is more of a care.

Product selection
Look for formulas without alcohol or with low content, quality essential oils and possibly vitamins (B5, E). Avoid products with artificial dyes and strong artificial fragrances.
